The socket is a non-return medium pressure device that enables the supply of a 2nd stage reducer, a tap or a measuring device.
It must be capable of delivering the expected gas without exceeding the allowable pressure drop. Brass or stainless steel receptacles made from a bar have a non-return nut end with 3/8 ”gas characteristics, right-hand threads for oxidizing and inert gases, and left-hand threads for flammable gases.
The choke is opened when a 2nd stage reducer or valve is screwed onto the outlet fitting nut. The label allows permanent identification of the outlet with indication of: gas name, chemical symbol.
